It all began when award-winning knitwear designer, Zoe Mellor, moved from London to Brighton.	Zoe had her first baby, and the Toby Tiger company (named after her son) was born!

Zoe opened her first small shop in Brighton, selling t-shirts with the early Toby Tiger print and applique designs for babies and children.	Zoe started selling to various retailers and continued to come up with new colourful designs.

Zoe’s second baby was born, and like all parents who love to move house just after they’ve had a baby, she moved Toby Tiger to the new bigger shop in Gardner Street, Brighton – which is where we still are today!	After six months of building work, a hole in the roof, and a resident pigeon, the shop was finally able to open.

Toby Tiger was being requested by small and larger stores, and the brand grew. Zoe’s love and commitment to using organic cotton in bright bold colours was born – there was no one making colourful organic children’s clothes... we were the first!	The shop as a place to store our products became too much, and the boxes moved into Zoe’s kitchen, flat, office and studio.

We moved our ever-growing collection to our warehouse in Lancing. This beautiful new warehouse meant the Toby Tiger offices had more space and Zoe’s home was no longer used as a storage facility, much to the delight of her family.	Zoe opened the German sister company in Berlin so Toby Tiger could continue to sell to our fabulous European stockists.

The Toby Tiger German warehouse and office opened. Zoe relocated to Berlin to set up our German office and warehouse, where we happily sell to all our EU stockists!	Zoe is now primarily based in Berlin and loves a good team catch-up with her small brilliant Toby Tiger UK team who continue to spread the Toby Tiger thought, with the gulls squawking in the background....
